May 24 – Day of Slavic Literature and Culture

Today we celebrate a holiday that unites millions of people and recalls the great achievements of the past. May 24th is the feast day of Saints Cyril and Methodius, Equal-to-the-Apostles, creators of the Slavic alphabet. Thanks to their work, our ancestors acquired written language, and with it, the ability to preserve and develop their culture, literature, and traditions.

On this day, it is especially important to remember: Russia is a multinational country, home to dozens of peoples for centuries, each carefully preserving their own language and customs. Russian has become the language of international communication, but the true strength of our country lies in its unity, mutual respect, and shared history.

Let Slavic Literature Day be a reason for everyone to reflect on the importance of their native language, the richness of our shared culture, and our responsibility for Russia’s future. Let us carefully preserve and pass on this priceless heritage to future generations!
