The harvest campaign in the republic has entered the final stretch.

To date, nearly 280,000 hectares, or 99%, have been harvested. The gross grain harvest has reached 1 million tons in bunker weight, with an average yield of 36 centners per hectare. This is a significant achievement for Kalmykia. This is thanks to the professional work of farmers, timely preparation, and government support measures.

“An important task was to ensure that farms have everything they need to ensure a smooth harvest. Together with the federal Ministry of Energy and the Ministry of Agriculture, we managed to resolve the issue of diesel fuel supplies: a quota of 12,000 tons has been approved for agricultural producers in the republic for the harvest and subsequent winter sowing”, emphasized Batu Khasikov, head of the Republic of Kalmykia.

A million tons is not only a significant achievement for Kalmykia. Grain meets the republic’s and the country’s domestic needs and remains a key export commodity. Our farmers contribute to Russia’s food security, while our produce gains access to foreign markets.

“Today, we face the challenge of not only completing the harvest, but also preserving the harvest, ensuring its effective storage, and further processing. Developing the entire chain from field to finished product will allow us to fully realize the potential of our agro-industrial complex”, concluded Batu Khasikov, Head of the Republic of Kalmykia.
