Information from mysterious Kalmykia about upcoming sporting events of the Lotus Festival 2026
This year’s Festival will take place on August 8th and 9th in the cozy southern town of Lagan and the village of Dzhalykovo in Kalmykia’s Lagansky District, and its program will be even more exciting.
One of the festival’s main sporting events will traditionally be the Open Republican SUP Tournament “Lagan SUP Challenge”, a local source in the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Kalmykia reported today.

The geography of the Lotus Festival’s participants expands every year – in various years, guests from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Volgograd, Astrakhan, Rostov-on-Don, Makhachkala, other parts of the country, and even Belarus have come to Kalmykia for the Lotus Festival.
In 2026, organizers expect even more participants, meaning the Lagan SUP Challenge will once again become a place of vibrant sporting excitement, new friendships, and exciting water battles.
