The Tulip Festival promotes Kalmykia as a region with a rich culture and unique natural beauty. This event has already become a hallmark of the republic, a source in the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Kalmykia told the National Tourism Portal today.

The Tulip Festival makes its grand entrance in April across the mysterious land of Kalmykia. In 2026, the festival marathon opened in the Tselinny District on April 11th. Last weekend, the festival truly took place – with a flourish, a joyful, and folksy atmosphere – in eight districts of the republic: Yashkulsky, Chernozemelsky, Ketchenerovsky, Maloderbetovsky, Sarpinsky, Priyutnensky, Yashaltinsky, and Gorodovikovsky. Flowering tulips in Kalmykia starts around at the end of April – early May. Therefore, usually residents of Republic of Kalmykia and the tourists travel to the spring blooming steppe to admire the blooming tulips on May holidays (from 1 to 10 May).
