Investments in Kalmykia January 15, 2013 held a working meeting of the Head of Kalmykia Alexey Orlov with the CEO “Kalmyk broiler” Albert Yegorov. The meeting focused on the creation of a new plant for the production of poultry meat in Kalmykia.

FIDE chief Kirsan Ilyumzhinov and Ashmore Group set up a joint fund

Kirsan Ilyumzhinov The President of the World Chess Federation and ex-president of Russia’s Republic of Kalmykia, Kirsan Ilyumzhinov is reportedly going to set up a $10 billion investment fund with UK major Ashmore Group.

Ex-president of Russia’s Republic of Kalmykia Kirsan Ilymzhinov and Ashmore CEO Mark Coombs signed an agreement in London, reports Kommersant Daily. The joint fund would develop projects in Russia, CIS and East Asian countries such as Malaysia, Singapore and Japan, focusing on energy, telecommunications, metals and food industries.

Lundin Petroleum spuds Petrovskaya-1 exploration well on the Lagansky block

Lundin Petroleum Lundin Petroleum AB has started drilling the Petrovskaya-1 exploration well in the Lagansky block, situated in the Russian sector of the northern Caspian. Lundin Petroleum has a 70 percent net interest in the Lagansky block.

Lundin Petroleum starts drilling Lagansky exploration well in Caspian Sea

Lundin Petroleum has started drilling the Laganskaya-1 exploration well in the Lagansky block, situated in the northern Caspian Sea in Russia. Lundin Petroleum has currently a 70% net interest in the Lagansky block.

The well, with a planned depth of 2,000 meters, is targeting Cretaceous and Jurassic Sandstone Reservoirs. The Laganskaya structure is situated towards the southwest of the recent Morskaya discovery but on a different structural trend associated with existing onshore fields. Read the rest of this entry »
