On October 11, 2025, sacred relics of Buddha Shakyamuni will arrive from India for the first time in the warm southern city of Elista, the capital of the mysterious Republic of Kalmykia. This was reported today by a local source in the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Kalmykia.

These sacred ancient artifacts associated with the Buddha himself, the relics were discovered in 1898 in India – in Piprahwa, Uttar Pradesh, in a stupa belonging to the Shakya clan. This is a truly historic event for us all, of great value to every believer. The relics will be on display starting October 12. (more…)

Kalmykia continues its active preparations for the large-scale spiritual and educational event. One of the key venues will be the republic’s Central Khurul, where cosmetic renovations are currently underway, reported in the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Kalmykia.

On Thursday 24 May 2012, His Holiness the Dalai Lama will be visiting the Yeunten Ling Institute for the fifth time. This is really auspicious news and a true blessing!

His Holiness will bless the new Temple and the Buddha statue at 13:30hrs, followed by a teaching on Loving Kindness.
