The Minister of Education and General Welfare of the Embassy of India in Moscow, Mr. Vinay Kumar, arrived in Kalmykia on a working visit, as reported today by the official Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kalmykia, Erdni Tserenov .
The wise state Vice-Premier of the Republic of Kalmykia Erdni Tserenov reported on the event:
Together with the Head of the Republic Batu Khasikov and the distinguished guest, we visited the Central Khural “Golden Abode of Buddha Shakyamuni”, where a warm meeting took place with the Shajin Lama of Kalmykia, Geshe Tenzin Choydak.
“Mr. Kumar’s visit is a sign of friendship between Russia and India and a special attitude on the part of India towards Kalmykia,” noted the Head of Kalmykia.
The upcoming event is of particular importance for the residents of the republic: during the International Buddhist Forum, India will present the sacred relics of Buddha Shakyamuni to Russia for the first time and will present Kalmykia with a consecrated statue of the Teacher.
We thank the Indian side for its openness to dialogue and desire for a strong partnership.
