Kirsan Ilyumzhinov bring in Kalmykia relics of Shakyamuni Buddha. During his official visit to Sri Lanka, the first President of the Republic of Kalmykia, FIDE President visited the ancient fortress city of Sigiriya, attended a service at the church of the Sacred Tooth Relic.

During the conversation with the abbot of the temple had been agreed that, in deference to the merits of the Buddhist Republic of Kalmykia in the spread of Buddhism in the republic will be brought relics of Shakyamuni Buddha, as well as the germ of a sacred tree Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi, nurtured, according to the legend of the ridge tree under which the Buddha Sakyamuni was enlightened, and brought to Sri Lanka in 288 BC Emperor Ashoka. Yesterday, 26 April, the central khurul “Golden Abode of Buddha Shakyamuni” was the ceremony of consecration of the statue of Sakyamuni Buddha. In addition, the monks consecrate all brought from the village Primanych sacred objects, which will be incorporated in the stupa of enlightenment. Among them are statue of Buddha Akshobhya. It is this deity advised the villagers to put in a niche stupa shadzhin Lama of Kalmykia Telo Tulku Rinpoche.

Yesterday, 26 April 2011, the High Lama of Kalmykia and President of the Association of Buddhists of Kalmykia Telo Tulku Rinpoche gave a lecture at the University of California at Santa Barbara on “Buddhism in Kalmykia in the post-Soviet era.”

First Deputy Prime Minister of Republic of Kalmykia, Vyacheslav Ilyumzhinov held a workshop to launch the first two wind farms in the village of Sandy Republic of Kalmykia.

The meeting discussed technical issues and issues of interaction between partners, creating a working committee to run these facilities, the regional program of energy development.

Alexander Berzin was born in Paterson, New Jersey, received in 1965 a bachelor’s degree at the Department of Oriental Studies at Rutgers University in cooperation with Princeton University in 1967 – a master’s degree, and in 1972 – a doctorate at the Department of Far Eastern Languages (Chinese) and Sanskrit and Indian Studies at Harvard University. Ph.D., professor of Geshe lharamba Tenzin Dugda completed gift of oral comments to the practice of this deity. After watching the movie the new head of the republic Alexei Orlov, formally appealed to the Kirsan Ilyumzhinov with a proposal to head the government of Kalmykia, in which he refused.

Moscow, September 8 (Itar-Tass) – Kirsan Ilyumzhinov, when he steps down as head of the republic of Kalmykia, will remain in the republic to focus on three social and charity projects.

Celebrating a birthday, enlightenment and passing away of the Buddha Sakyamuni parinirvana in Elista, resulted in an unforgettable celebration in honor of the three signs of Teachers. His magnificently celebrated in many Buddhist countries. Since 2000, this holiday is officially included in the calendar of UNESCO.

Congratulated the residents and visitors with a bright celebration of Kalmykia Republic of Kalmykia President Kirsan Ilyumzhinov. Key in his speech became a phrase: “We pray that His Holiness the XIV Dalai Lama arrived in Elista in September after the Beijing Olympics.” Among the VIP-persons present at the ritual service, was a famous traveler Fyodor Konyukhov.
