Foreign tourists banned from Tibet on anniversary of riots

The Chinese government has banned foreign tourists from entering Tibet on the third anniversary of violent anti-government protests in the region.

Anyone who intends to travel to the troubled region requires a special permit but such permits will be refused to foreigners. The ban could last for up to three months.

Travel agencies in the region say they have been ordered not to allow foreign tourists into Tibet in March.

Russian President Dmitry Medvedev visited the central khurul Kalmykia Evening of March 1, Russian President Dmitry Medvedev visited the central khurul of Kalmykia “Golden Abode of Buddha Shakyamuni” – the largest Buddhist temple in Russia and Europe.

July 3, AVIA.RU – The Government of Kalmykia and the Austrian company Diamond Aircraft intend to establish a joint venture assembly of light-engine aircrafts in the republic, hoping to come up with this product to the private market and in the small special aviation field, informs the newspaper “Kommersant” in Volgograd.

The Austrian company Diamond Aircraft is considering building a factory in the territory of Kalmykia’s to assembly light-engine aircraft, manufacturing of aircraft propellers and wings for wind power mills.
