The President of the World Chess Federation and ex-president of Russia’s Republic of Kalmykia, Kirsan Ilyumzhinov has bought a 52.5% stake in Bulgaria’s largest fuel company Petrol Holding.
Swiss-based Credit Mediterranee owned by Kirsan Ilyumzhinov bought the 47.5% stake owned by Denis Ershov and the 5% stake owned by Alexander Melnik, Vedomosti Daily reports. Ilyumzhinov plans to buy 100% of Petrol and is currently engaged in negotiations with another shareholder Mitko Sabev, who holds a 47.5% stake.

Monument to Zaya Pandita
Zaya Pandita or Namkhaijamts (1599–1662) was a Buddhist missionary priest and scholar of Oirat origin who is the most prominent Oirat Buddhist scholar.
Zaya Pandita was the fifth son of Babakhan, a minor Khoshut-Oirat prince. After Babakhan converted to Buddhism in the early 17th century, he, like many of the other Oirat princes, wished for one of his sons to enter the Buddhist clergy. In pursuit of his wish, Babakhan chose Zaya to become a bandi (“novice”) monk. In 1615, Zaya journeyed to Lhasa, Tibet where he would study and practice Buddhism, including study under the guidance of the 4th Panchen Lama.

The sacred month Ur Sar has begun in Kalmykia
On 21th of May the sacred month Ur Sar has begun in the Republic of Kalmykia. During the whole month until 19th of June the believers in Kalmykia will honor the spiritual deeds of the buddist religion founder Budda Shakyamuni – birth, enlightment, and entering the Paranirvana. Despite of the fact thatthese events took placemore than 2600 years ago, the deeds of Budda and he himself are vivid reality for the buddist believers.
