Fishing In the Republic of Kalmykia, border guards, police and FSB officers seized more than 4 tons of carp without documents. The fish was intended for delivery to North Ossetia-Alania.

In Lagan district law enforcers detained a 43-year-old resident of Krasnodar – he was buying up fishes from employees of fishing organizations for onward sale. They found 1,123 carp with a total weight of over 4 tons in the back of a ZIL car belonging to the detainee.

“All detected products did not have proper markings, which contained information about the producer, date of manufacture, conditions and terms of storage, stipulated by law. Also, there were no documents confirming the legality of its origin and presence in the area. The market value of the discovered products was about 400 thousand rubles” – the press-service of the frontier administration of the FSB of Russia in the Republic of Kalmykia and the Astrakhan region told Fishnews.

The fish and the truck were confiscated and an inspection is being carried out.
