The Tulip Festival promotes Kalmykia as a region with a rich culture and unique natural beauty. This event has already become a hallmark of the republic, a source in the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Kalmykia told the National Tourism Portal today.

The Tulip Festival makes its grand entrance in April across the mysterious land of Kalmykia. In 2026, the festival marathon opened in the Tselinny District on April 11th. Last weekend, the festival truly took place – with a flourish, a joyful, and folksy atmosphere – in eight districts of the republic: Yashkulsky, Chernozemelsky, Ketchenerovsky, Maloderbetovsky, Sarpinsky, Priyutnensky, Yashaltinsky, and Gorodovikovsky. Blooming begins!

In the warm south, in mysterious Kalmykia, the first tulips have bloomed, a local source in the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Kalmykia reported today, March 30, 2026.

Schoolchildren from the northern city of Moscow were the first to see the tulips. The young Muscovites visited Kalmykia during spring break, according to the head of the Tourism Department of the Kalmykia tourism portal. (more…)
