Mysterious Kalmykia will become a key stage of the “Great Silk Road 2026” the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Kalmykia announced.

From May 24 to 29, 2026, the Russian stage of the international route “Journey along the Great Silk Road 2026” will pass through Dagestan, Kalmykia, and the Astrakhan region.

The caravan will arrive in mysterious Kalmykia on May 26 and will stay for three days. (more…)

Mysterious Kalmykia has become the leader in the growth rate of so-called “quiet” tourism in Russia. In 2025, the number of bookings in the republic increased by 41%, according to a joint study by the Russian Ministry of Economic Development and the Association of Travel Aggregators (ATAG).

Former president of Kalmykia Kirsan Ilyumzhinov – Honorary Citizen of the city of Burgas.

On the 26th of July the 1st President of Kalmykia, FIDE President Kirsan Ilyumzhinov paid an official visit to Bulgaria, where in Sofia he met with the Bulgarian Prime-Minister H.E. Boyko Borisov. During the meeting the issues of chess development as well as possibilities of investment projects realization in Bulgaria by international business circles were discussed.

In particular, Kirsan Ilyumzhinov informed the Bulgarian Prime-Minister on a project which is being undertaken by him alongside his European business partners, in respect of the investments into the economy of Bulgaria – tourism, gas station network modernization etc. (more…)

Prague, Czech Republic, 1 December 2008 – His Holiness the Dalai Lama arrived in Prague, the capital of Czech Republic on November 29 morning from Frankfurt by a private plane. His Holiness is in Prague at the invitation of former President Vaclav Havel and Forum2000 from 29 November to 1 December 2008.

His Holiness was received at the airport by the Indian Embassy’s First Secretary and Mr. Olda Cerny Executive Director of Forum2000. On arrival at the hotel, His Holiness was welcomed by the members of the Tibetan Community.

While speaking to the Czech TV, His Holiness spoke about his long association with Czech Republic and especially with President Havel. His Holiness also spoke about the present dialogue with China. This is His Holiness’ seventh visit to Czech Republic. (more…)
